I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist but I adapt my practice to meet your individual needs. My genuine , down to earth approach will offer you a safe space to share your troubles and we will work together to help ease whatever that burden may be, whether it is an issue in your present life, or perhaps something from your past which you are struggling with . Let me use my expertise and compassion to support you make the lasting changes you need.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a type of talking therapy which helps you to identify and challenge unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving. It works on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and actions are connected, and that by changing one of these elements, you can make positive changes in how you think and feel. CBT aims to break negative patterns by empowering you with proven strategies and evidence based tools to help you recognise your strengths, achieve your goals and truly understand your emotions. It is the most commonly recommended therapy by the NHS.

What if CBT is not suitable for me?

CBT mostly deals with the here and now, issues which are presenting currently in your life, but maybe your issue is something which you are carrying from your past. I have experience using Trauma Focussed Therapy to help clients face those past traumas and move on successfully with their lives. Compassion Therapy, Acceptance Therapy, Person Centred therapy and Shinrin Yoku (Forest Therapy) are all modalities i have used when suitable with clients.
